Day 2 TOKYO
TOKYO

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with an English-speaking guide at the hotel, then begin a full day Tokyo sightseeing by private coach. You will visit: the observatory of the Metropolitan Government of Tokyo Shinjuku, which offers a beautiful view of the whole city; Meiji Jingu shrine located within a stunning city park; and you will continue on to the districts of Omotesando and Harajuku.
Lunch is not included.
In the afternoon, photo stop at the Imperial Palace; then the private coach will take you to Asakusa Sensoji temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo dedicated to Asakusa Kannon. A short walk away is the Nakamise, a shopping district full of little stalls and shops selling traditional souvenirs and sweets. We will continue on to Ginza, the most stylish fashion district in Tokyo.

Day 3 TOKYO – FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO – MATSUMOTO
MATSUMOTO

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with your English-speaking guide in the morning and travel by private coach. Your first stop will be the scenic lake Kawaguchi, where you can enjoy breath-taking views of Mount Fuji.

Transfer to Matsumoto. Photo stop at Matsumoto castle, which is a beautiful and perfectly preserved Japanese-style castle built in the 16th century. Visit Shuzo, a Japanese sake brewery in Azumino, where you can enjoy sampling sake. Arrive at Matsumoto city.

Day 4 MATSUMOTO – TAKAYAMA – SHIRAKAWAGO – KANAZAWA
KANAZAWA

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with your English-speaking guide in the morning and travel by private coach. Enjoy free time in Takayama walking around the old town. Due to its previously inaccessible location nestled high in the mountainous Hida alpine region, this beautifully preserved old town was cut off from the rest of Japan, allowing it to develop its own unique culture.
Lunch is not included.
Transfer to Shirakawago. You will have free time to explore a region declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995, famous for its traditional Gassho-zukuri farmhouses. The roofs, made without nails, provide a large attic space used for cultivating silkworms. Arrive at Kanazawa.

Day 5 KANAZAWA – KYOTO
KYOTO

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with your English-speaking guide and begin with a sightseeing tour of Kanazawa by private coach. You will visit Kenrokuen, rightly classified as one of Japan’s three most beautiful landscape gardens. You will also visit Higashi-chaya-town, a former geisha house district.

Departure for Kyoto including a short photo stop at lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. An ideal photo stop is at Shirahige Jinja where the large vermilion-lacquered Torii gate can be seen in the middle of lake Biwa. Arrive at hotel in Kyoto.

Day 6 KYOTO – NARA
NARA

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with your English-speaking guide and embark on a full day excursion of the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto, by private coach. Visit: Kinkakuji temple, the “temple of the Golden Pavilion” covered entirely with gold leaf; Ryoan-ji temple famous for its beautiful and mysterious zen rock garden.
Lunch is not included.
In the afternoon, you will visit Nijo castle, former residence of the Tokugawa Shogun. Transfer to Fushimi-Inari which is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Arrive at Nara.

Day 7 NARA – ISE – TOBA – YOKOHAMA
YOKOHAMA

Breakfast at your hotel.
Meet with your English-speaking guide and explore Nara, first capital of Japan, by private coach. Visit Todaiji temple, famous for its giant bronze statue of Buddha. Transfer to Ise and visit Ise Jingu shrine, the most sacred Shinto shrine and Okage Yokocho, a traditional market steet in front of the shrine. Depart for Toba and take the ferry to Irako. Enjoy the views of the beautiful Ise bay.
Lunch box on ferry.
Ride the Shinkansen train from Hamamatsu to Shin-Yokohama. Luggage is forwarded to your hotel in Yokohama by coach. It will be delivered 1 hour after your hotel arrival.

Day 8 YOKOHAMA – NARITA (DEPARTURE)

(The visit to Umi-Hotaru might be cut depending on flight departure times) Arrive at Narita airport and depart by scheduled flight to home country. Meals and overnight on board.
